REGULAR SEASON (JUNE 24 - AUGUST 26) SCHEDULE

PUBLIC SWIM - Open to all ages. An adult must accompany chidren 12 and under.

Monday - Friday   3:00-5:00 pm ($2.50), 7:45-8:30 pm ($1.25)     Saturday and Sunday 12:30-2:30 pm ($2.50)    Saturday  5:00-6:00 pm ($1.50)

FAMILY SWIM - Open to families. A guardian over the age of 16 must accompany children.

Monday - Friday   6:00-7:00 pm ($1.50)     Saturday and Sunday 2:45-4:45 pm ($2.50)    

FREE SWIM - Open to all.  An adult must accompany chidren 12 and under.

Saturday    12 Noon - 12:30 pm (FREE)

LAP SWIM - Lanes are set up during these times for swimmers to take advancage of this excellent form of exercise.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday   7:00-8:00 am ($2.00)

POST-SEASON (AUGUST 27 - SEPTEMBER 1) SCHEDULE

PUBLIC SWIM - Open to all ages. An adult must accompany chidren 12 and under.  Monday-Friday   2:30-5:00 pm ($2.50), 5:30-7:00 pm ($1.50)     Saturday & Sunday 12:30-2:30 pm ($2.50), 2:45-4:45 pm ($2.50)

Swim Team (7 – 19 years)      COST $58
This is a great way to work on speed, endurance, and stroke development. The team is divided according to age groupings. Swimmers must be able to swim 25m. First come, first served.  Times: Monday-Friday 8-9 am

Aqua Squirts (7 – 11 years)     COST $54
This activity-based water orientation program is designed to improve breathing, floats, entries, and swimming skills to prepare the swimmer who is interested in Swim Team. Each class revolves around a creative theme. Times: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday  7-7:45 pm

Water Polo (Must be comfortable swimming freely in deep water)   COST: $2 Drop in 
Join us for a challenging game of water polo. No experience necessary!  Learn how to dribble, pass, shoot the ball and sea gull. Dates: June 29-August 24 Times: Tuesdays 7-7:45 pm

Red Cross Swim Sports (Must be comfortable swimming freely in deep water)   COST: $2 Drop in  
An "aquatic samplers" that introduces swimmers to some of the fundamental skills of a variety of sports - Boating, Diving, Lifesaving sport, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Swim Workout, Underwater hockey, etc. Dates: June 29 - August 24 Times: Thursdays 7-7:45 pm

Water Safety Instructor Course (15 yrs +, Level 10 Skills and one of the following: Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard, Emergency First Aid or Higher or Bronze Cross) COST:$296 This course futher develops instructional ability by focusing on how to effectively plan and teach Red Cross Swim program continuum. Other topics include instructional emergency response skills and stroke development, drills, and corrective strategies. In addition to the course, candidates apply their teaching skills and knowledge during 9-11 hours of practical teaching experience. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates are certified as Water Safety Instructors and can teach Red Cross Swim program anywhere in Canada. Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard (12 years+, Level 10 Skills)  COST: $134 This 25-hour prerequisite course for the professional lifeguard certification teaches injury prevention, teamwork, basic rescues and lifeguard skills. Candidates are continuously evaluated throughout the course based on standard evaluation criterion. Dates: Please inquire through Leisure Services Office (832-6102)

Red Cross Lifeguard (15 years +, must have Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard and Standard First Aid) COST $216 This course prepares deck-ready lifeguards to prevent and respond to lifeguard emergencies, create a safe environment, work in teams, and handle public relations in a professional manner. The candidates are continuously evaluated throughout the course based on a standard evaluation criterion and complete a final skills and knowledge assessment. Upon completion, candidates will be certified as Red Cross Pool Lifeguards. Dates: Please inquire through Leisure Services Office (832-6102)

Red Cross Workplace Standard First Aid  COST $117 The Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR training is basic knowledge delivered in easy-to-follow steps. The training course teaches skills that can apply to a varierty of situations, from minor injuries to more severe injuries and conditions. This knowledge can turn you from a bystander into someone who has the knowledge and skills to help. The Workplace program meets Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation. Pool Rentals – Evenings and Weekends:  The pool is available for rentals evenings after 8:30 pm;  Saturday and Sunday before and after regular programming. Rental fees must be paid three days in advance to reserve the spot.

THE HAMPTON COMMUNITY POOL OFFERS A VARIETY OF AQUATIC PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. SESSIONS TAKE PLACE AS FOLLOWS:

RED CROSS SWIM ADAPTED Cost: $54.00 This program is for any swimmers with physical or cognitive disabilities. By using specialized resources, Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Instructors can ensure swimmers are placed in the level appropriate to their individual abilities. Instructors will include swimmers in Red Cross Swim Preschool or Red Cross Swim Kids group lessons or offer one-on-one or small group classes. Session 1: June 26-July 14 (No classes on July 3)

6 months-6 years Red Cross Swim Preschool                      COST: $54.00
This eight-level program allows your children to enter levels based on their age and abilities. Each level is built around an aquatic species theme and has its own mascot, which will make learning engaging and fun for young children.

Levels & Program Contents:

Starfish 6-12 month old age-specific activities. Caregiver must accompany child in water. Times: Mon-Fri 12 Noon

Duck 12 months-24 months age-specific activities. Caregiver must accompany child in water. Times: Mon-Fri 12 Noon

Sea Turtle 24 months-36 months age-specific activities. Caregiver must accompany child in water. Times: Mon-Fri 12 Noon  

Sea Otter 3-6 years; Using games and activities, swimmers learn to open their eyes under water, further develop basic floats and glides and swim 1 meter. Times: Sat 10 am, 11:30 Mon-Fri 10 am, 11:00 am, 12:30, 1 pm, 2 pm, 2:30 pm, 5 pm                                                                                                             

Salamander 3-6 years; Using games and activities, swimmers learn to swim 2 meters, further develop basic floats and increase their distance on front and back glide. Front swim and roll-over glide are included. TIMES:  Sat 10:30 am Mon-Fri 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 5:30 pm                                 

Sunfish 3-6 years; Learn to swim 5 meters, increase distance using buoyant objects, increase front and back glide with kick, develop roll-over glide, side glide and front swim.  TIMES:  Sat 11 am Mon-Fri 11 am, 1 pm, 5:00 pm

Crocodile 3-6 years; 5 m front and back swims; dolpin kick and being using rhythmic breathing. Kicking drills. Distance swim 10 m. TIMES:  Mon-Fri 11:30 am, 5:00 pm

Whale 3-6 years; Distance swim 15m; front and back swim for 10 m; Flutter kick. Times: Mon-Fri 12 Noon


5 years to 12 years of age Red Cross Swim Kids                 COST: $54.00
This 10-level program for school aged children will help swimmers develop all six swimming strokes, actively learn how to be safe around water, and increase their fitness and endurance through fun activities.

1 Distance swim 5 m; Swimmers receive orientation to water & work on floats, glides & kicks.  TIMES: Sat: 10 am Mon-Fri 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm,  5:30 pm
